{"id":3048,"date":"2018-08-29T11:33:39","date_gmt":"2018-08-29T10:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.percamsa.com\/?page_id=3048"},"modified":"2019-02-12T14:59:44","modified_gmt":"2019-02-12T13:59:44","slug":"sisal-thread","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.percamsa.com\/en\/products\/agricultural-sector\/sisal-thread\/","title":{"rendered":"Sisal Thread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\"><span title=\"\">Sisal fiber is obtained from the family of agave, a long-leaved plant present in the tropics.<\/span> <span title=\"\">This fiber is picked up by a machine in which the sheet is crushed by rollers and then mechanically scraped.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The fiber is washed and dried by mechanical or natural means.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The dried fiber represents only 4% of the total weight of the leaf.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Once the fiber dries, it is mechanically brushed twice.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">The bright threads, usually white, average 80 to 120 cm in length and 0.2 to 0.4 mm in diameter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This fiber is highly valued for the manufacture of ropes due to its strength, durability, drawability, affinity for certain dyes, and resistance to deterioration by the effect of water. One of the industrial applications of sisal, in particular, medium grade fiber is used for the manufacture of ropes.
